High School Tag

1. DID YOU DATE SOMEONE FROM YOUR SCHOOL? No. I went on one date with a guy from my school, one date with a guy from Rigby (our rival school), and a date with my best friend who had previously been kicked out our school for drug use. If you must know, only one of those was because the guy asked me--the other two (yes, the guy from Rigby and my druggie friend) were dates initiated by me. I had to have someone to take the girl's choice dances since my friends insisted I go. By the way, my druggie friend was AWSOME, just a little misguided. He's doing better now. Oh, I guess I dated a college guy my senior year. We worked together at Kmart. I tend tend to block those memories out. :)

2. WHAT KIND OF CAR DID YOU DRIVE? My parents and I bought a Dodge Neon the week before I graduated. Before that I usually got a ride with my awesome cousin/sister in her HUGE suburban or yellow station wagon.

3. DID YOU PASS YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE TEST YOUR FIRST TRY? Yes, I think I only missed one question. I don't even remember studying. How's that for AWSOME!

4. WERE YOU A PARTY ANIMAL? Nope, I would usually be home on Friday nights.

5. WERE YOU CONSIDERED A FLIRT? I think I was too shy to be considered much of anything. I doubt anyone but my friends even knew I existed in high school.

6. WERE YOU IN BAND, ORCHESTRA, OR CHOIR? I was in an all girls choir my Junior year. I'm surprised I even tried out. It's not really something I would have done. My mom had put me in voice lessons so it felt like something I should do. It was an amazing audition though because I was able to hit every high note even though I was scared stiff. I call that divine intervention. I met some really great girls that I still keep in contact with now.

7. WERE YOU A NERD? I did well in school if that's what classifys as a nerd. I didn't really like to study so my science grades could have been better, but I just didn't care. I was on the honor roll every trimester, but I didn't care enough to go for Valedictorian. Not that I could have gotten there anyway, we had 14 or something valedictorians the year I graduated. All of them having taken college level classes. I wasn't that desperate to do well in school! High school was the time to take high school classes, college classes would come later.

8. WERE YOU ON ANY VARSITY TEAMS? No, sports were definitely NOT my thing.

9. DID YOU EVER GET SUSPENDED/EXPELLED? No! I would have died before I did anything wrong in school. In fact, whenever my parents would go to PTC my teachers would comment on how quiet I was. My parents always found this hard to believe since they couldn't get me to STOP talking when I was at home.

10. WHO WERE YOUR FAVORITE TEACHERS? Mrs. Malcom (English), Mr. Johnson (Science), Mr. Grover (Math). I mentioned before that I didn't like Science, but Mr. Johnson was awsome. He didn't make me disect the frogs on nasty disection day. He also took a strange liking to me and let me be his TA one semester. It was so much fun!

12. WHERE DID YOU SIT FOR LUNCH? During my Sophmore year all my friends had the opposite lunch from me. I sat in the hall by my locker and ate by myself. Some of my friends would sneak out during class to "use the restroom" and visit with me instead. I was glad when those two trimesters were over. After that I always had at least one friend in the same lunch as me. We usually just sat at whatever table was available in the Commons.

13. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S FULL NAME? Madison High School

14. WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S MASCOT AND COLORS? BOBCATS! Red, Grey, and White

16.IF YOU COULD GO BACK AND DO IT AGAIN WOULD YOU? Maybe for a day or two. I was pretty self-conscious and felt left behind by my group of friends. I did love making new friends though and I wouldn't mind seeing some of them again.

17. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER MOST ABOUT GRADUATION? It was so much fun. I sat between two really fun people whom I'd never really spoken to before. We laughed the entire time, especially when it came time to go up to the stage and we got confused on what we were doing. I remember huging all my friends and thinking that I probably wouldn't see most of them again. I also remember my "druggie" friend being there. I was sad that he wasn't graduating with us, but I was glad he came.

18. WHERE DID YOU GO SENIOR SKIP DAY? We had a Lagoon Day that was arranged by the school. I didn't go because I hate those types of things. My mom and I went shopping instead. Even if we would have had a senior skip day, I wouldn't have skipped school. I would have been too terrified of getting caught---even if everyone else was doing it.

19. WERE YOU IN ANY CLUBS? FHA (Future Homemakers of America). My group won gold at Nationals our Sophmore year. We won gold at state our Junior year, but had to drop out of Nationals because the state messed up and gave gold to two teams. Only one could go so our group was pressured to let the Seniors from Twin Falls go. It was the last time I competed. It was a hard fight to lose. We knew we wouldn't compete as Seniors, but the other schools didn't seem to care (Rigby especially) and told us we should back out. It wasn't worth the fight so we caved in.

20. HAVE YOU GAINED SOME WEIGHT SINCE THEN? I don't think I hit 100 pounds until my Senior year. So yes, I have gained some weight since then.

21. WHO WAS YOUR PROM DATE? I didn't go to prom---I was never asked.

22. ARE YOU PLANNING ON GOING TO YOUR HIGH SCHOOL REUNION? I went to our 5-year reunion and HATED it! None of my friends were there and I felt ackward. We were in Philadelphia during our 10-year reunion last year. I heard it was fun and that people were a little more open to conversing with people other than their past social groups. Plus my cousin, and a few of my friends were there. It would have been fun. I guess our 20 year reunion is next. Who knows where we'll be at that point, but I think I'd like to go.

23. DID YOU HAVE A JOB IN HIGH SCHOOL? Yes, I delivered newspapers in the morning and then during my Senior year I worked at Kmart.

24. WERE YOU AN HONOR STUDENT? Every trimester!

25. DID YOU TAKE SEMINARY? Every year since Junior High.

26. WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR MOST FUN TIME? I loved making new friends. It made going to school fun when you were just starting a new friendship. I had several guy friends that made me laugh so hard. There were some of the greatest people that had lockers next to me. I looked forward to class getting out just so I could go see them and have another quick conversation.

27. WERE YOU CONSIDERED SHY OR OUTGOING? Shy

I tag anyone who hasn't done this yet, including you Doug!

That's a good tag! I like learning about other people because my life is boring :) I wish I can go to institute. Maybe they will have one in Philly.

Rachel--I think we didn't know each other because we were mortal enemies just by the schools we attended. However; the Lord knew we needed each other so he gave us Doug to introduce us. Little did you know that by going on a date with him, you'd later get the "privilege" of knowing me. :)

Hey. . .I knew you were alive in high school. I know that we got to be really good friends in college, but I think we became friends when we were in Mussettes(SP?) togehter. Right?
